CSPJ certifies 119 magistrates in Haiti judicial review
The Superior Council of the Judicial Power (CSPJ) has released the results of a certification process for magistrates following a working retreat held from September 7 to 10, 2026. After reviewing 159 dossiers, the Council certified 119 magistrates.
Of the remaining cases, 17 magistrates failed to meet the required criteria for certification, and two individuals were removed from their positions due to abandonment of post. Additionally, seven magistrates have been called to retire. The Council has placed 14 dossiers on hold, noting that further investigations and the collection of additional administrative and legal information are required before a final decision can be made.
The CSPJ stated that this process is a critical component of its oversight role, intended to ensure that all judicial officers uphold standards of integrity, competence, and probity in their professional duties.
