Côte d’Ivoire financial sectors see growth in banking and insurance

The financial landscape in Côte d’Ivoire is seeing significant activity across the banking and insurance sectors. In the insurance market, revenue reached 435.9 billion FCFA in the first half of 2026, with a 6.1% growth rate. SanlamAllianz Côte d’Ivoire Assurances maintains a dominant 27.8% market share in non-life insurance under CEO Mamadou G. K. Koné, while GNA Assurances, led by Romuald Kouassi, has grown significantly to hold 12.6% of the market.

In the banking sector, Société Générale Côte d’Ivoire (SGCI) remains the leading institution, particularly strong in corporate financing and digital services. Meanwhile, the state-owned Banque Nationale d’Investissement (BNI) is expanding its influence. BNI Director General Youssouf Fadiga announced a 300 billion FCFA fund to support the 2026-2027 coffee-cocoa campaign, a 6% increase intended to provide essential liquidity for producers and cooperatives during the agricultural cycle.
