Côte d’Ivoire launches national public‑key infrastructure for electronic signing

The National Agency for the Security of Information Systems (ANSSI‑CI) announced on 24 July 2026 in Abidjan that the country’s public‑key infrastructure (PKI) is now operational. The national PKI provides a root certification authority for electronic signatures, enabling authentication, integrity and non‑repudiation across government, businesses and citizens. It is intended to secure financial and administrative transactions, accelerate trusted digital dematerialisation, protect critical infrastructure with sovereign certificates and foster a local electronic‑certification market. The deployment follows prior recognitions by the International Telecommunication Union and the International Organization for Standardization as the national authority for object identifiers, embedding the PKI within Côte d’Ivoire’s legal framework for electronic signatures.
