Ivory Coast cybersecurity advancement

In late July 2026 Côte d’Ivoire announced two linked steps in strengthening its digital security. On 24 July, the National Agency for the Security of Information Systems (ANSSI‑CI) declared that the country’s public‑key infrastructure (PKI) was fully operational, providing a root certification authority for electronic signatures across government, business and citizen services. The PKI is intended to secure transactions, protect critical infrastructure with sovereign certificates and stimulate a domestic electronic‑certification market.

Two days later, ANSSI hosted a workshop to review the 2021‑2025 National Cybersecurity Strategy and to present a draft framework for the 2026‑2030 strategy. The new plan builds on the PKI rollout, outlining five pillars that emphasize stronger governance, updated legal frameworks and the development of national digital capital to reinforce sovereign cyber protection.

Together, the operational PKI launch and the strategic planning workshop signal a coordinated effort by the Ivorian government to deepen cyber resilience and establish a robust legal‑technical foundation for digital trust.
