Côte d'Ivoire removed from FATF grey list
Côte d'Ivoire has been removed from the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) grey list following two years of reforms aimed at strengthening its systems against money laundering and terrorist financing. The decision was announced on October 30, 2026, following a plenary session in Paris.
According to the FATF, the country successfully completed its action plan within the agreed timeframe. The removal follows an on-site evaluation that confirmed progress in financial investigations, improved oversight of financial institutions, and enhanced international cooperation. The Ivorian government, led by President Alassane Ouattara, characterized the decision as international recognition of its reform policies.
While the removal is expected to facilitate international financial relations and reassure investors, officials noted it serves as a call to maintain the momentum of these reforms in collaboration with the Intergovernmental Group on Action against Money Laundering in West Africa (GIABA).
