Côte d’Ivoire showcases social protection reforms at Geneva CIPRES summit

Minister Adama Kamara led the Ivorian delegation to the 40th session of the CIPRES Council of Ministers in Geneva on 10 June 2026. Representing the government, he highlighted recent advances in the country's social protection system, including improved benefits for insured workers and retirees, modernization of social security schemes, extension of coverage to informal‑sector workers, and progress toward universal health coverage. Key reforms presented were pension revaluation, a special retirement bonus, the development of a regime for independent workers, and strengthening of universal health insurance. The delegation, which included senior officials from the CNPS, CNAM and IPS‑CGRAE, used the platform to promote Côte d’Ivoire as a regional model for inclusive, modern social protection and invited other member states to the upcoming Social Round event in late June.
