Côte d'Ivoire suspends Diarra Transport licence after deadly Touba‑Biankouma crash
The Ivorian Ministry of Transport and Maritime Affairs announced on 24 July 2026 the immediate suspension of Diarra Transport’s operating licence following a serious crash on the Touba‑Biankouma road that caused heavy human and material losses. The ministry ordered the company's buses to be transferred to Abidjan for technical inspection and administrative verification, with the presence of competent services.
The transport operator must also prove that its drivers hold valid road‑conductor certificates, pay all outstanding traffic fines linked to its fleet, and cover all costs incurred from the accident. These measures are imposed while a judicial procedure concerning the crash remains open.
