Côte d'Ivoire transport safety enforcement

Overview

Following a fatal crash on the Touba-Biankouma road, the Ivorian Ministry of Transport and Maritime Affairs suspended the operating licence of Diarra Transport on 24 July 2026. The ministry ordered the company’s buses to be transferred to Abidjan for technical inspection and administrative verification.

As part of the enforcement measures, the operator is required to prove its drivers hold valid certificates, settle all outstanding traffic fines, and cover costs resulting from the accident while judicial proceedings continue.
