Cuba advances digitalization of legal and registry services

The Cuban Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Communications are collaborating to advance the digital transformation of legal and registry services. A recent meeting between Ministers Rosabel Gamon Verde and Mayra Arevich Marín focused on optimizing digital procedures to increase transparency, efficiency, and citizen access.

Key initiatives include the digitalization of the Civil Registry, which involves processing millions of records regarding births, marriages, and deaths. The ministries are also promoting the Soberanía and Bienestar platforms, the latter of which allows citizens to request certifications online using digital signatures and QR codes.

Further technological developments include the use of artificial intelligence for registry searches and the consolidation of electronic notary documents. The strategy emphasizes institutional interoperability, linking justice systems with other state social services to streamline public administration.
