Cuba and Canada advance to NORCECA volleyball semifinals

Cuba and Canada have secured spots in the semifinals of the NORCECA Men's Continental Volleyball Championship in Moncton.

Cuba advanced to the semifinals after a 3-0 victory over Puerto Rico with set scores of 25-21, 25-23, and 25-14. Alejandro González led the Cuban offense with 15 points, supported by Marlon Yant's 11 points. The win allowed Cuba to recover from a previous loss to the United States.

Canada also punched its ticket to the semifinals by defeating Mexico 25-15, 25-18, 25-20, finishing Group A with a perfect 3-0 record. Sharone Vernon-Evans was the top scorer for the hosts with 15 points.

The tournament, held at the Avenir Centre, serves as a qualifier for the 2027 Men's World Championship and provides a pathway toward the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
