Cuba and Peru implement new digital government services

Government agencies in Cuba and Peru are implementing new digital tools to modernize administrative services and reduce the need for in-person visits.

In Cuba, the Ministry of Justice has enabled online requests for criminal records through the Soberanía platform. Users can authenticate via Certified Digital Identity, complete forms, and pay electronically. The resulting digital document includes a certified electronic signature for authenticity verification. This service is intended to complement, rather than replace, in-person assistance at the Central Registry of Sanctions.

In Peru, the National Water Authority (ANA), under the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation, has launched a free Electronic Mailbox (Casilla Electrónica). This digital address provides legal validity to administrative notifications, offering real-time alerts via email and SMS. The system aims to optimize processing times and reduce travel costs for individuals and businesses by providing a secure, timestamped method for receiving official documents.
