Cuba and Vietnam renew medical scholarship exchange agreement

Cuba and Vietnam have reaffirmed their long-standing bilateral ties through a renewed agreement for medical study scholarships. The arrangement, which has existed for 65 years, establishes an annual exchange of 15 undergraduate and postgraduate scholarships per country.

During a ceremony at the Cuban Embassy in Hanoi, young Vietnamese students were welcomed to prepare for their studies on the island. The program prioritizes health training, an area of international prestige for Cuba. Cuban Ambassador Rogelio Polanco stated that Cuba will continue offering scholarships in the medical and pharmaceutical sectors to support Vietnam’s human resource development.

In addition to the educational exchange, Vu Hai Ha was reelected as the president of the Vietnam-Cuba Parliamentary Friendship Group during a session of the National Assembly of Vietnam.
