Cuba faces international solidarity campaigns amid U.S. blockade
Various international organizations are launching campaigns to support Cuba amid economic challenges and the ongoing U.S. blockade.
The International Communist League (ICR) has announced global mobilizations for October to defend the Cuban Revolution. In the United States, the Revolutionary Communists of America are planning demonstrations across ten major cities. In Canada, the Revolutionary Communist Party is organizing public meetings in Toronto and Edmonton, alongside a workshop in Vancouver.
Simultaneously, a Pan-African solidarity campaign has been initiated. On September 13, the Coalition to Eliminate Imperialism in Africa hosted an online event titled ‘Cuba and Africa’ to discuss ways for international organizations to counter the effects of the U.S. blockade. Activists highlighted Cuba’s historical ties to African liberation movements and its contributions to health and education sectors across the continent.
