Cuba men's volleyball qualifies for Los Angeles 2028 Olympics

The Cuban men's national volleyball team has secured qualification for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. In the NORCECA Olympic Qualifying Tournament final held in Moncton, Canada, Cuba defeated the host nation 3-1 with set scores of 25-21, 25-23, 23-25, and 25-22.

Cuba's offensive effort was led by Marlon Yant, who scored 25 points, and Miguel Ángel López, who contributed 22 points. Canada's top scorer was Stephen Maar with 22 points. This victory marks Cuba's return to the Olympic stage for the first time since the Rio 2016 Games, following absences from the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 competitions.

In related regional news, the Brazilian men's team also secured an early berth for Los Angeles 2028 after defeating Argentina 3-0 to win the South American Championship. Additionally, the Cuban women's team is scheduled to compete in the NORCECA Final Six tournament in Mexico.
