Cuba Revises Salary Scales for Artists and Health Workers

The Cuban Ministry of Labor and Social Security issued a corrected set of wage regulations in July 2026, updating the pay structure for government‑funded artists and health‑sector employees. For artists, the new resolution details salaries ranging from 3,210 CUP for non‑evaluated workers to 10,105 CUP for the principal conductor of the National Symphony Orchestra, with wages tied to complexity groups and individual assessments. The health‑sector resolution establishes pay grades for doctors, dentists, nurses and other staff, with specialist physicians earning up to 8,880 CUP and nurses' salaries ranging from 4,755 CUP to 7,045 CUP, plus night‑shift differentials of up to 100 CUP per hour for intensive‑care specialties. Both regimes take effect on 1 July 2026, with the first payments scheduled for August 2026.
