Cuban residents in Panama demand end to US blockade

The Martian Association of Cubans Resident in Panama (Amcrp) is holding its XIV National Meeting to condemn the United States blockade against Cuba and reaffirm solidarity with the island.

During the gathering, Amcrp President Humberto Pérez noted that the meeting occurs during a complex period in Cuban history. The association plans to discuss how the Cuban diaspora can actively participate in the economic development of the country.

Pérez highlighted previous efforts, including participation in the VIII Regional Meeting of Latin America and the Caribbean in Uruguay, where the Montevideo Declaration denounced unilateral coercive measures. The group also reported organizing caravans to protest Washington's policies and coordinating the shipment of medical supplies to Havana through the Cabildo Quisicuaba sociocultural project. The association continues to demand the end of the blockade and the removal of Cuba from the United States list of state sponsors of terrorism.
