Cuenca allocates 100,000 euros for provincial sports subsidies

The Provincial Council of Cuenca has released a provisional resolution for subsidies aimed at local entities organizing events for the 2026 Cuenca Provincial Circuits. With a total investment of 100,000 euros, the program includes 58 approved proposals across various municipalities in the province.

Abel Fresneda, the Deputy of Sports, stated that these grants allow the circuits to expand to more municipalities, facilitating the organization of diverse competitions. The initiative aims to support town halls that use sports as a tool for local revitalization, promoting healthy lifestyles and strengthening community participation.

The supported activities cover multiple disciplines, including road racing, mountain running, MTB, duathlon/triathlon, padel, frontenis, bowling, and traditional games. Participating municipalities include Alconchel de la Estrella, Belmonte, Minglanilla, and several others. A ten-day period has been opened for the submission of allegations following this provisional announcement.
