Cuenca allocates 40,000 euros to support resin sector workers
The Diputación de Cuenca has approved a 40,000 euro subsidy program for 2026 to support self-employed workers in the resin sector. The funds will be distributed among eight professionals across the province to help alleviate economic burdens and promote rural employment.
Javier Cebrián, the Deputy of Entrepreneurship, stated that the initiative aims to transform local natural resources into direct labor opportunities, helping to combat rural depopulation. The program focuses on green entrepreneurship and the sustainable use of forest resources.
The subsidies are calculated based on a rate of 0.30 euros per allocated pine tree, with a maximum aid of 1,500 euros per beneficiary and a cap of 5,000 trees per applicant. This allocation represents an increase from previous years, which featured a total fund of 30,000 euros.
