Cuenca allocates funds to transform historic Cine Avenida into cultural center
The Diputación de Cuenca has allocated 50,000 euros to Cáritas Diocesana de Cuenca to fund the comprehensive rehabilitation of the historic Cine Avenida. The project, which has a total budget exceeding 282,000 euros, aims to transform the former cinema into a multipurpose center for cultural, social, and educational activities.
Once renovated, the facility will serve as an infrastructure for conferences, congresses, theatrical performances, and film screenings. It is also intended to provide a dedicated space for local social associations and community groups. The Cine Avenida originally operated from the early 1970s until its closure in 1984.
