Cuenca Council approves subsidies for 28 sports clubs to run 2026 provincial circuits
The Diputación Provincial de Cuenca has released a provisional resolution confirming aid for 28 sports clubs that organise events in the 2026 provincial circuits. The funding line targets clubs that host popular races, mountain runs, MTB, duathlon, triathlon and orienteering competitions across the rural areas of the province.
One application was rejected for not meeting the call’s criteria, and the clubs now have ten working days to lodge any appeals before the final allocation is approved. Sports Deputy Abel Fresneda said the programme demonstrates the council’s commitment to provincial sport, noting its role in promoting healthy habits, energising local economies and supporting community life in towns and villages.
The council reiterated its intention to keep supporting clubs that deliver quality events and broaden access to sport throughout Cuenca.
