Cuevas del Almanzora invests 96,000 euros in Muleria drainage

The City Council of Cuevas del Almanzora has launched a drainage and stormwater evacuation project in the district of Muleria to prevent flooding. The project involves an investment of 95,846.85 euros, funded entirely by municipal resources.

The works aim to address runoff and water accumulation issues experienced during heavy rains in late 2025, specifically protecting homes, plots, and road safety along the AL-8105 road. The technical plan includes installing an underground conduit with two large inspection chambers to channel runoff into an existing stormwater ditch. Additionally, a 17-meter pipe will be installed to create a transverse crossing under the AL-8105 road, accompanied by the conditioning and concreting of the adjacent path to ensure water flows safely toward the Rambla Las Canalejas.

Although the AL-8105 road is managed by the Provincial Council of Almería, the local government has opted to cover the full cost of the intervention to enhance local safety and preparedness for future weather contingencies.
