Cuiabá expands and modernizes municipal schools with 34 construction projects

The Cuiabá Municipal Education Department reported that during the first half of 2026 it carried out improvements in all 172 public schools. The program includes 34 structural works, the approval of 72 fire‑prevention projects and the issuance of more than 110 sanitary permits. New facilities under construction are the Cemei Altos do Parque, Cemei Santa Terezinha II and Ceic São Francisco de Assis, while 17 general‑maintenance projects are ongoing at sites such as Ceic Santa Inês Poção and Emeb Rafael Rueda. Major renovations were completed at Emeb Jescelino José Reyners, Emeb Esmeralda de Campos and the Centro Amar.

Preventive health actions covered cleaning of water reservoirs, pest control and sanitisation in 143 schools, with another 22 slated for the coming weeks. Maintenance work addressed pumps, leaks, electrical and hydraulic systems in 49 units, including full upgrades to climate‑control, lighting and energy efficiency. The department aims to deliver the new units by the second half of the year, expanding capacity for early childhood education.
