Municipalities in Brazil expand primary healthcare infrastructure

Various Brazilian municipalities are implementing measures to strengthen primary healthcare through new facilities and infrastructure improvements.

In Cuiabá, the Dr. Fábio Family Health Unit (USF) has commenced operations to serve approximately 16,000 residents, featuring dental offices and multidisciplinary medical teams. Additionally, officials conducted technical visits to the Coxipó I and II units to plan renovations addressing structural issues like cracks and leaks.

In Goiânia, the Residencial Vale dos Sonhos USF has been inaugurated following the completion of works that had been stalled for several months. The 750-square-meter facility is expected to serve 3,000 patients monthly.

In Cáceres, Mayor Eliene Liberato Dias signed an order to resume construction of the Vila Irene Basic Health Unit (UBS) with an investment of R$ 1.2 million, utilizing federal parliamentary funds. Meanwhile, in another region, Mayor Geraldo Abade authorized the construction of a new UBS in the Garcia neighborhood, a R$ 3.3 million project funded through a reparation agreement with Vale.
