Brazilian municipal health unit renovations

Overview

Health infrastructure improvements are underway in various Brazilian municipalities. In Paranavaí, three Basic Health Units—Panorama, Coloninha, and Monte Cristo—are undergoing structural renovations, including roof reinforcement and electrical updates, funded entirely through private donations.

In Cuiabá, the USF Doutor Fábio health unit has commenced operations to serve approximately 16,000 residents, featuring dental offices and multidisciplinary medical teams. Technical visits were also conducted to the Coxipó I and II units to plan renovations for structural issues such as cracks and leaks.

In Goiânia, the Residencial Vale dos Sonhos USF has been inaugurated following the completion of works that had been stalled for several months; the 750-square-meter facility is expected to serve 3,000 patients monthly.

In Cáceres, Mayor Eliene Liberato Dias signed an order to resume construction of the Vila Irene Basic Health Unit (UBS) with a R$ 1.2 million investment from federal parliamentary funds. Additionally, Mayor Geraldo Abade authorized the construction of a new UBS in the Garcia neighborhood, a R$ 3.3 million project funded through a reparation agreement with Vale.
