Cuiabá expands routine cleaning of plazas and parks

The municipal company Limpurb carries out an ongoing schedule of cleaning and upkeep for Cuiabá's plazas and parks. Daily work focuses on the historic centre and surrounding areas, where services such as weeding, mowing, sweeping, curb painting and waste collection are performed more intensively due to higher foot traffic.

Teams of 16 workers maintain central plazas like Alencastro, Clóvis Cardoso, Rachid Jaudy and Santos Dumont, while a fixed crew of 15 oversees the popular Parque das Águas, handling lane cleaning, restroom upkeep, litter bins, vegetation pruning and lighting checks. Weekend mutirões reinforce efforts in high‑demand zones. Officials cite improper waste disposal, especially bottles and cups left near the lake, as a main challenge. Local merchants and residents report that the improved hygiene boosts commercial activity and enhances the sense of safety in public spaces.
