Cuiabá launches oral health and breastfeeding support initiatives

The City of Cuiabá is implementing several public health initiatives focused on oral hygiene and breastfeeding support. Through the 'Beabá do Sorriso' pilot program, the municipal health and education secretariats are working in eight local schools to promote oral health. The program includes supervised brushing, health guidance, and the distribution of hygiene kits to establish healthy habits in students from an early age.

In conjunction with the 'Agosto Dourado' campaign, the city is also hosting 'Mamaço' events at local shopping centers to promote and protect breastfeeding. These mobilizations include educational workshops, support networks for mothers, and vaccination points. Additionally, the campaign is collecting glass containers to assist milk banks in storing donated human milk for use in neonatal intensive care units.
