Cuiabá launches tax amnesty program with up to 95% discounts

The city of Cuiabá has launched a tax amnesty program, known as Mutirão Fiscal, allowing taxpayers to regularize municipal debts with discounts of up to 95% on interest and penalties for lump-sum payments. To qualify for the maximum discount, taxpayers must also pay the current year's Property Tax (IPTU) in full.

The program covers various municipal taxes, including IPTU, Real Estate Transfer Tax (ITBI), Service Tax (ISS), and municipal fees. It also includes non-tax debts, such as fines issued by the Municipal Secretariat of Urban Mobility, Procon Municipal, and the Municipal Secretariat of the Environment.

Taxpayers can opt for installment plans of up to 48 months. For tax debts, the discount on charges decreases as the number of installments increases: 60% for 2 to 12 installments, 50% for 13 to 24, 40% for 25 to 36, and 30% for 37 to 48. For non-tax debts, lump-sum payments offer up to a 50% discount on penalties, while installment plans provide reductions ranging from 10% to 35%.
