Cuiabá opens fifth round of 'Minha Rua é Show de Bola' street-screen contest

The municipality of Cuiabá announced the opening of the fifth round of the "Minha Rua é Show de Bola" contest, encouraging neighborhoods to decorate streets and submit photos or videos of their efforts. Voting will run from 14:00 on Thursday, July 2, to 14:00 on Friday, July 3, on the city hall’s Instagram Stories, with the four streets receiving the most likes awarded a large outdoor screen, tents and chairs for watching Brazil’s World Cup matches.

Previous rounds have installed screens on streets such as Rua F, Rua 05, Rua 10 and Rua Cruz de Malta, among others, while ensuring a rotation rule that prevents past winners from competing again. The initiative aims to boost community interaction, showcase local creativity, and generate informal‑economy opportunities for street vendors during match broadcasts.
