Cuiabá residents watch Brazil‑Scotland match on street screens despite cold snap

On a rare cold night with temperatures around 14 °C, residents of Cuiabá gathered in six neighborhoods to watch Brazil’s 3‑0 victory over Scotland on large outdoor screens. The event was part of the municipal "Minha Rua é Show de Bola" campaign, which transforms streets into open‑air stadiums. Screens were set up on Rua Vila Mirante (Ribeirão do Lipa), Rua Lages (CPA I), Rua 17 (Santa Terezinha), Rua 15 (João Bosco Pinheiro), Rua 44 (São João Del Rey) and Rua Belo Horizonte (Alvorada), with tents, chairs, water distribution and support from the city's mobility department.

Mayor Abilio Brunini visited several streets, praised the collective effort of citizens who painted, made flags and decorations, and confirmed that more streets will be selected for future matches. Participants highlighted the sense of community and belonging the project fosters. The initiative continues the tradition of decorating streets during national team games, encouraging public use of communal spaces even in unusually cool weather.
