Cuiabá school pool expands inclusive sports and Paralympic training

The semi-olympic pool at Emeb Maria Dimpina Lobo Duarte in Cuiabá has become a vital resource for physical activity, inclusion, and development for children and adolescents. The facility serves students of the school and is open to the school community.

Through a partnership with the Municipal Sports Secretariat, the pool also hosts the Cuiabá Paralympic Reference Center. This collaboration expands opportunities for sports initiation and training for people with disabilities. The swimming activities are designed to support the physical, emotional, and behavioral development of participants, including neurodivergent children, helping to improve autonomy and emotional regulation.

The pool is used by Emeb students on Tuesdays and Thursdays, while the Paralympic Reference Center utilizes the space on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays under the guidance of physical education instructor Kelly Regina da Silva Almeida.
