Cuiabá streets host public screens for World Cup 2026

The municipality of Cuiabá expanded its "Minha Rua é Show" program by installing large outdoor screens on six streets – Rua 44, Rua 17, Rua 15, Rua Belo Horizonte, Rua Lages and Rua Vila Mirante – for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The mayor, Abilio Brunini, kept the screens in place for the Brazil‑Scotland match after a rainy previous game and added water, chairs, portable toilets and tents to improve the viewing experience.

Residents praised the initiative, recalling iconic moments such as Richarlison’s bicycle‑kick goal in 2022. Brumell Rodrigues said, "I never imagined seeing a screen right in front of us to watch every step, goal and the crowd's vibration." Others expressed optimism for Brazil’s quest for a sixth title, with many families gathering to watch the matches together.

The project was supported by the city's Mobility and Public Safety departments, aiming to foster community spirit and provide a safe, comfortable environment for fans across the city during the tournament.
