Cuiabá to launch all-day free student transit pass
The City of Cuiabá will implement the ‘Cuiabá Card Estudantil’ during the first week of this month, providing students with free access to public transportation throughout the entire day. Announced by Mayor Abilio Brunini and Secretary of Urban Mobility and Public Security Colonel Francyane Lacerda, the initiative aims to increase student mobility and inclusion.
The benefit allows students to use public transport not only for commuting to school but also for various daily activities, such as visiting libraries, shopping centers, cinemas, and participating in cultural or sporting events. The program is being developed through a partnership with public transport companies, meaning it will incur no additional costs for the municipal administration.
Access to the free pass is strictly tied to school attendance. To maintain the benefit, students must maintain regular attendance; if a student is absent, the benefit will be suspended the following day to encourage academic commitment.
