Cuisinart expands metal grill brush recall to include 1.9 million more units

Conair has expanded its recall of Cuisinart metal wire bristle grill brushes to include an additional 1.9 million units. This expansion follows a July recall, bringing the total number of recalled brushes to approximately 3.6 million.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued the alert due to a serious ingestion hazard. Reports indicate that metal bristles can break off and become lodged in food or grill grates. Conair has received 54 reports of bristles detaching, including three incidents where consumers swallowed metal pieces that required medical treatment to remove from the throat or digestive tract.

The recalled products include various models with black plastic, stainless steel, or wood handles, sold between June 2009 and March 2026. Impacted items were sold at retailers such as Walmart, Burlington, TJ Maxx, and Ross, as well as online through Amazon and Cuisinart.com. Consumers are advised to stop using the brushes immediately and contact Conair for a full refund or a credit for the full amount plus 20% for use on Cuisinart.com.
