Cuisinart metal grill brush recall expansion

Overview

Conair has expanded its recall of Cuisinart-branded metal wire bristle grill brushes to include approximately 3.6 million units. This expansion follows an initial July recall of 1.7 million items, adding another 1.9 million units to the scope.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission issued the alert due to an ingestion hazard, noting that metal bristles can break off and become lodged in food or grill grates. There have been 54 reports of bristles detaching, including three incidents where consumers required medical treatment to remove swallowed metal pieces from their digestive tracts or throats. The CPSC warned that these detachments pose a risk of serious internal injuries that may require surgery.

The affected products include the Cuisinart Steam Clean Grill Brush, the Cuisinart Dual Grip Grill Brush, and various other models with black plastic, stainless steel, or wood handles sold between June 2009 and March 2026. A total of 20 different models are affected, including specific model numbers such as CCB-100, CCB-4125, CCB-5014, CCB-6450, CCB-8012, CCB-4114, CCB-W2, and CSBS-777. These items were sold both individually and within premium grill tool sets through retailers including Walmart, Amazon, TJ Maxx, Burlington, and Ross.

Consumers are advised to stop using the affected brushes immediately and can seek a refund or credit through Cuisinart’s recall process.
