Cuisinart recalls over 3.6 million grill brushes due to injury risk

Cuisinart has expanded a recall of its metal wire bristle grill brushes to include more than 3.6 million units due to an ingestion hazard. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) warned that small metal bristles can detach from the brushes and stick to food or the grill, posing a risk of serious internal injuries that may require surgery.

Importer Conair reported at least 54 incidents or reviews regarding detached bristles, including three cases where consumers required medical treatment to remove bristles from their throats or digestive tracts. The recall covers brushes sold between June 2009 and March 2026, including various models with black plastic, stainless steel, and wood handles.

A total of 20 different models are affected, including the Cuisinart Dual Grip Grill Brush and several items sold within premium grill tool sets. The products were sold through major retailers such as Amazon, Walmart, TJ Maxx, and Ross. Consumers are advised to stop using the affected brushes immediately and can seek a refund or credit through Cuisinart’s recall process.
