Culiacán experiences waves of armed attacks and violence

Culiacán, Sinaloa, has experienced a series of violent incidents involving armed attacks, pursuits, and vehicle fires.

In one reported event, gunmen targeted various sectors including the city center, north, and south, resulting in shots fired at homes, vehicle arson, and the use of cars to ram gates. While rumors circulated regarding an operation against a Sinaloa Cartel leader, authorities stated they had not detained a high-priority target.

Other recent violence included an armed pursuit in the northern sector that left two men injured and hospitalized. In a separate incident in the southwestern area, a group of armed individuals pursued a man, firing repeatedly. While that specific attack resulted in bullet damage to vehicles and scattered shell casings, no injuries or fatalities were confirmed in that instance.
