CULTIVA 2026 program offers training for young Spanish farmers

The Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food is accepting applications for the CULTIVA 2026 program, an initiative designed to support generational renewal in the agricultural and livestock sectors. The application deadline is September 15, with training stays scheduled to begin in January 2027.

The program offers 549 training placements across Spain, lasting between 5 and 14 days. Participants will engage in practical learning at model farms, covering topics such as digitalization, machinery, crop and livestock management, economic management, sustainability, and climate change adaptation.

Eligibility is targeted at young professionals who are farm holders under the age of 40, or those aged 41 and older who have entered the sector within the last five years. The Unión de Pequeños Agricultores y Ganaderos (UPA) has encouraged participation, noting that such practical training is vital for helping young professionals consolidate their projects and improve their holdings through the exchange of knowledge and diverse production models.
