Diyarbakır hosts Turkey Culture Route Festival with 249 events

The Turkey Culture Route Festival has commenced in Diyarbakır, marking the 22nd stop of the nationwide event organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. The nine-day festival features 249 activities across 14 different venues, including concerts, theater performances, exhibitions, workshops, and literary talks.

A major focus of this year's festival is gastronomy, with 48 designated “Flavor Points” established to showcase the city's rich culinary heritage. Musical performances by various artists are scheduled to take place at Nevruz Park and other locations.

Local officials, including Diyarbakır Governor Murat Zorluoğlu and Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Serdar Çam, emphasized that the festival aims to promote the city's ancient history and cultural identity to national and international audiences. Tourism data indicates a significant rise in visitors to the region, with 1.3 million tourists visiting Diyarbakır in the first eight months of the year. The city's UNESCO World Heritage sites, such as the historic walls and Hevsel Gardens, remain central to its growing tourism appeal.
