Cultural developments in Vietnam feature new literature and immersive stage art

Vietnam is seeing new creative expressions in both literature and performing arts. Author Tran Minh Cuong has released a collection of 31 short stories titled ‘Chênh vênh những phận người’ (The Precariousness of Human Fates), published by the Literature Publishing House. The work explores the lives and struggles of people in the Mekong Delta region, using local landscapes such as rivers, rice fields, and cajeput forests to reflect on themes of memory, family, and human existence.

In the performing arts, a new immersive stage program titled ‘Hào khí Lạc Hồng’ (The Spirit of Lac Hong) is scheduled for November 21 and 23, 2026, at the Hung Temple Festival Center. Inspired by Vietnamese legends such as Lac Long Quan - Au Co and Son Tinh - Thuy Tinh, the 90-minute production will utilize advanced technologies including holograms, 3D mapping, and water walls to recreate historical and mythical scenes on a water surface. The production aims to combine traditional cultural values with modern cinematic language and interactive elements to promote sustainable tourism.
