Vietnamese literature and performing arts developments
Overview
Vietnam is experiencing diverse creative developments across literature and the performing arts. In literature, author Tran Minh Cuong released a collection of 31 short stories titled ‘Chênh vênh những phận người’ (The Precariousness of Human Fates), which examines the lives and struggles of people in the Mekong Delta region.
The performing arts sector is also seeing innovation and traditional preservation. A new immersive stage program, ‘Hào khí Lạc Hồng’ (The Spirit of Lac Hong), is set to use technologies such as holograms and 3D mapping to recreate Vietnamese legends. Additionally, the Ngân mãi chuông vàng stage is presenting a production of the traditional Cai Luong play, Bach Hai Duong, directed by Meritorious Artist Kim Phuong.
In television, Meritorious Artist Hoang Hai has received recognition for his portrayals of father figures in series such as Xom nho and Cuoc doi van dep sao, noted for depicting social struggles and paternal roles.
