Cultural events announced for Nafplio and Thessaloniki

Greece is hosting several significant cultural events across its historic sites and major venues. In Nafplio, the Akronafplia Theater ‘Evangelia Deilaki’ will host ‘Akronafplia Theater Experience: Vasilis Live with Orchestra’ on September 13. This performance features electronic musician Vasilis, who will lead a live orchestra using pianos and synthesizers to create an improvisational soundscape within the 2,000-year-old fortress.

In Thessaloniki, the Thessaloniki Concert Hall has announced its September–December 2026 program, featuring international performers. Highlights include the first Greek performance by The Cleveland Orchestra on October 20, opera galas with vocalists Piotr Beczała and Nadine Sierra, and a performance by the Nederlands Dans Theater in December. Culture Minister Lina Mendoni noted that state support and Recovery Fund resources have enhanced the venue's accessibility and sound recording infrastructure, strengthening the city's international cultural standing.
