Foggia hosts Disability Pride to demand accessibility and rights

Over one hundred people participated in the Disability Pride Puglia 2026 in Foggia, a demonstration organized by a network of associations, families, and individuals with disabilities and neurodivergence. The event featured an accessible parade through the city center to highlight physical and social barriers.

Participants used slogans such as ‘Accessibility is not charity, it is citizenship’ to demand equal rights and autonomy. The event included workshops and discussions at the Campi Diomedei regarding the Disability Reform and the ‘Project of Life.’ Organizers emphasized that disability is often a result of the interaction between a person's functioning and the environmental barriers present in their context.
