Cultural events in Turkey feature Yoruk heritage and photography
Various cultural and educational events are taking place across Turkey, focusing on heritage and photography.
In Istanbul, the Yoruk Week will be held from October 8 to 11. The program includes a symposium featuring approximately 30 academics from Turkey and the Balkans to discuss Yoruk language, music, and socio-economic structures. The week will also feature music performances, documentary screenings, and stand-up shows at Metrohan and the Beyoğlu Cinema.
The Pera Museum is hosting three free events as part of the 9th 212 Photography Istanbul. These include a discussion on the 96-year Uludağ family photo archive, a talk on the history of camera-less photography from photograms to the age of AI, and a documentary screening of a contemporary dance work.
In Bursa, Osmangazi Municipality and the Bursa Cinema and Photography Art Association (BURFOD) are conducting free basic photography training at the Ördekli Cultural Center. The program covers technical aspects such as aperture, shutter speed, and composition, with plans for future specialized workshops and an exhibition.
