Morocco hosts diverse cultural and film festivals in late 2026

Morocco is hosting several major cultural and cinematic events in late 2026. The Marrakech Short Film Festival (MARRAKECHsFF) is preparing its 6th edition from September 25 to 30, 2026. The festival has received over 400 short films from more than 90 countries, emphasizing cultural diplomacy and showcasing Moroccan talent through various national prizes.

In Tangier, the ÊTRE ICI artistic tour will take place on September 12-13, 2026, featuring over 50 artists across seven historic locations. However, the Moroccan Film Center has announced that the National Film Festival in Tangier, originally set for October 2026, will be postponed to March 2027 to avoid scheduling conflicts and better align with the international cinematic calendar.

Other notable events include the 9th Fado Festival in Rabat on September 10-11, focusing on the musical traditions of Lisbon, and the 19th Moussem de Tan-Tan from October 3-7, which celebrates Saharo-Hassani nomadic heritage under the patronage of King Mohammed VI.
