Overview
In September 2026, Tangier will host the Morocco Avocado Conference (MAC), the first international event in the country dedicated exclusively to the avocado industry. Organized by Green Smile under the theme ‘Water, Yield, Market’, the conference seeks to address a significant decline in exports, which fell from a record 141,000 tonnes to approximately 58,000 tonnes during the 2025/2026 season.
Industry experts and decision-makers will gather to discuss logistical hurdles and climate-related challenges, such as heatwaves, flooding, and chergui winds. The event will focus on irrigation, plant quality, certification, and climate resilience. Following the conference, technical support will be provided through an Avocado Advanced Fertigation Training on October 1-2, 2026.
