Cultural exhibitions celebrate female legacies in Spain and Andorra

Cultural exhibitions in Castelló and Andorra are highlighting the legacies of influential women. In Castelló, El Menador is hosting ‘El valor d’una dona. Sofia Salvador i Monferrer’, an exhibition dedicated to the life and work of the teacher and writer Sofia Salvador. The display includes documents, photographs, books, and personal objects that showcase her literary contributions, her work as an educator, and her efforts to preserve the Valencian language and the work of her father, Carles Salvador.

In Andorra, the Llacuna cultural center is hosting ‘Dones que donen la nota’, a project by artist Cristina Gallart Balañá. The exhibition aims to recover the histories of 25 women who contributed to music as performers and creators but were often excluded from official historical narratives. The project includes a book of biographies and musical recordings from the Andorra la Vella Conservatory, allowing visitors to engage with the works of these composers through QR codes.
