Cultural festivals draw large audiences in Mexico and Colombia
The XI edition of the Hay Festival Querétaro 2026 has concluded in Mexico, drawing 19,494 in-person attendees and over 13,000 digital participants. The three-day event featured more than 80 activities, including literature, poetry, music, and critical thinking discussions. Participants included writers, academics, and specialists from 13 countries.
The festival expanded its reach through the Hay Festival Joven for universities, the Hay Festival Comunitario for local communities, and the first extension of activities to Michoacán via Hay Festival Presenta Morelia. Digital audiences reached over 2 million people.
In Colombia, the municipality of Funza is preparing for the XXIX Zaquesazipa Art and Culture Festival. The 12-day event will feature concerts, exhibitions, and cultural encounters. The festival includes a large-scale opening show involving over 300 local artists and musical performances by various national and international acts scheduled for mid-September.
