Overview

International arts festivals across Latin America continue to announce programming, selection results, and upcoming editions.

In Ecuador, the Festival Internacional de Artes Vivas de Loja (Fiavl) has finalized the selection of 31 local projects in literature, visual arts, performing arts, and music from 99 applications. These projects will participate in the November 12–22, 2026, program. Organizers are still seeking gastronomic participants, such as restaurants and food trucks, for the Plaza de la Gastronomía.

In Mexico, authorities in Chihuahua have opened applications for the Festival Internacional del Estado de Chihuahua (FICH) and the Festival Internacional de la Ciudad de Chihuahua (FICUU) for October 1–18, 2026. The festivals offer economic incentives, including 10,000 pesos for individual performers and 20,000 pesos for groups or film projects. The 54th Festival Internacional Cervantino in Guanajuato is set to feature 1,684 artists from 20 Mexican states across 35 activities. Additionally, the XI Hay Festival Querétaro 2026 recently concluded, attracting nearly 20,000 in-person attendees and over 2 million digital viewers.

In Bolivia, the 15th Festival Internacional de Teatro de La Paz (FITAZ) is scheduled for August 30 to September 7, hosting troupes from seven countries and featuring a posthumous tribute to creator Maritza Wilde via the Kusillo Prize.

In Colombia, the municipality of Funza is preparing for the XXIX Zaquesazipa Art and Culture Festival, a 12-day event scheduled for mid-September featuring concerts and exhibitions with over 300 local artists.
