Cultural festivals held in Gornja Stubica and Svetvinčenat
Croatia is hosting two distinct cultural festivals focused on tradition and local heritage.
In Gornja Stubica, the 17th Gupčeva kestenijada is taking place. The autumn event features chestnuts, traditional cakes, and 'mošt' tasting. Organized by local tourism boards and winegrowers, the festival has grown from a regional gathering to an event attracting visitors from across the country. It includes performances by various cultural-artistic societies (KUD) and live music.
Meanwhile, Svetvinčenat is hosting the 10th International Pljočkanje Festival. The event begins at the Grimani Morosini Castle with an international expert symposium discussing how traditional games can support local identity, education, and tourism. The festival also features traditional sports competitions, including a 'pljočkanje' tournament and 'hitanje z fjondami' at Žlinja.
