Cultural festivals held in Hanoi showcase Cham Islam and theatrical arts

Hanoi hosted two distinct cultural events highlighting diverse Vietnamese traditions. The Cham Islam community from An Giang province presented a cultural exchange program titled “Bản tình ca làng Chăm” at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism. The event showcased traditional Cham Islam architecture, hand-woven brocade art, and unique attire, such as the Maspok scarf, to educate domestic and international visitors.

Separately, the 2026 Expanded Hanoi Stage Festival concluded after a 10-day run. Organized by the Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in collaboration with the Vietnam Stage Artists Association, the festival featured 15 professional units and 15 performances across six genres, including drama, Cheo, Tuong, Cai Luong, circus, and folk singing. Gold medals for best plays were awarded to “Đạo học” by the Hanoi Cheo Theater and “Người con gái Hà Nội” by the Army Drama Theater.
